Some 20 hours or so ago we announced how we have managed to forget the name of the Finnish hero who hand painted (important information) our coming demo covers, remember? Well, we haven’t heard anything from him yet so if this continues we’ll just have to leave that information out on this release – and that would suck.

So, if you’re reading this – get in touch with us ASAP so we can put you in the liner notes with the rest of the people who have helped us construct this series of demos.

It took but 42 minutes for J to nail the remaining three tracks today. Now K is waiting for the files so he can prepare everything for the mix that our beloved Dan Swanö will do, as always. Now, people, now we are close.

While being extremely (drunk) busy working on the new trilogy we have managed to completely forget the name of the Finnish superhero who’s hand painted our artwork that we have decided to use for our coming trilogy of demos. “J here. After a nice ride home on the iron horse I now have a glass of red to celebrate this evenings session. I first did the cover song, then went on to the 2nd song of the new demo and by then my voice was warmed up so to say and sounded like I normally do so I went on to record the 1st song for the demo and then I did the cover song once again as I thought the voice was sounding better than at the first take. Then I started with the 4th song of the day and I guess it sounded ok but my head was pounding like a head that is pounding really bad so I decided to try out tomorrow instead. Wise decision by someone who has been there a million times before, haha.. I still nailed three songs within an hour so I am happy with that result.

So why do I do that you might ask? Because I hate being in the studio?

Absolutely not! I just love the idea of going to the studio, well rehearsed from sitting in the car and repeating the song to a CD, and then nail a first take. A first take is the most honest and rawest piece of material you can work with..

I could probably re-do a few lines here and there to make them sound like the rest of the lines but I have done that for years and years so now I just say fuck it! Give me the microphone, set the levels and a decent sound in the headphones and go. I dont even have all guitar tracks, drum tracks, bass on separate files, K sent me a rough mix of the song and that is what I use, hahah.. Sometimes it is really hard to get the tempo cause I cant hear shit what they play but fuck it. If I cant do it in headphones then how the fuck can I do it live I usually think.. better get used to it, right?

Anyway, a short update and insight of how I work.

You can follow the progress on everything over at our Facebook page. Things are going swell and we are getting close to finally deliver another slab of the world’s best death metal to the world. It’s been way too long, but at least it will be worth the wait considering the amount of music we will give you this year.

If nothing fucks up in the coming days, J is destined to put down the vocals for the first demo next week. We are getting closer to handing you the first out of three demos (and some extra stuff as bonus) in 2013. Hang in there. It will be worth it.

J is finalizing the last lyrics for the first out of the three coming demos and will record his vocals as soon as humanly possible. We have no set time table for this, but just hang in there. You’ll be updated on everything as we go along, just like always. Also, if you run a label and wanna release our “The army of three” CD that we have ready for manufacturing – get in touch with us at torturedivision@gmail.com and we’ll work out a deal for you.

Great to see that you guys seem to like “Gimp Grind”. We knew you would. But it seems like some of you are a bit confused. This tune is not from a coming demo, it’s a track we wrote quite a while ago. Originally it was meant for a split with another band but that got postponed so we decided to put this previously unreleased tune on the coming compilation that is “The army of three”. A comp that consists of our 2 latest demos and a few other special tracks, such as “LiK”. This means that the trilogy that we just recorded (along with some other stuff) has nothing to do with “Gimp Grind”. That’s a stand-alone track all in itself.

Are we clear about that now?

So what we have in store for you now in 2013 is not only that compilation, but also THREE new 3-track demos as well as 2 split releases (one with Asphyx which holds a brand new track as well as a cover song from a great band, and the other release holds one brand new tune. We can’t announce what this split is about yet, but in time we will).

As you were. Keep supporting death metal in general and Torture Division in particular.

In a (hopefully) not too distant future we will give you an unreleased song entitled “Gimp grind” for your listening pleasure. This one was recorded some time ago and is the unreleased track that we have referred to that will be featured on “The Army Of Three” whenever it’s released.

We are, of course, collaborating with our good friend and mix endorser Dan Swanö to set things up so you can get it from his Unisound page, so as soon as everything is fixed we will notify you and you will get some extremely nice death metal to devour while waiting for our coming trilogy of demos and everything else that we have in store for you this year.

So… anxious to hear it yet? Let us hear ya!!!
