New demo out thru Close-Up Magazine now!

And we are getting rave reviews of it from people, which is nice and expected. In some 3 weeks we will make it available to the rest of the world thru our website, as always. For free. If you feel like donating a dollar or 2 as a “thanx for giving me the world’s best death metal”, feel free to do so. We sure would appreciate it. Or you can buy a shirt from us. There are a few left, so get to it. Check out the merchandise section for available sizes. We also have a bunch of albums left for sale if you prefer that. Anything you can contribute will help Torture Division as a band and make us keep going on, giving you free music. We are also looking for some decent gigs during the summer, preferably on festivals thruout Europe. Get in touch with us. You deserve to have us playing there.

More news as we go along. And thanx to Adam Tonér for the latest band photo that was taken at Gotland some months ago.

New demo to be released through Close-Up Magazine!

Close-Up Magazine‘s supported Torture Division since day one in alot of ways. They understood our greatness early and awarded us with a gig at Metaltown a few years ago. Then they decided we should play their Close Up Boat, which we did. Besides that they have always kept an eye on us and supported us. Now it’s time for an insane collaboration as they have decided the best move in their career is to release our coming demo “Through the eyes of a dead” as a free CD (with their March issue) to everyone who subscribes to their magazine. Yes, it’s exclusive. Kind of. This demo will only be available to their subscribers (until someone rips it and puts it on the Internet, haha) for the entire month when this issue is in the stores. After that we will naturally have it available to everyone at our site, as always.

The world’s best death metal is still for free, only this time it is free to the subscribers to Close-Up Magazine first. The magazine deserves it for all their support to Torture Division. The cover (made by Devilish):

Be ready for this, becoz it’s a fucken beast. Once again mixed and mastered by the mighty Dan Swanö. The guy who’s endorsed us from pretty much the start with his mixes. We salute him. Our 4th member of our Army Of Three. Yeah, we know… Weird…

Make sure to hire his services at www.unisound.se.

Same goes for Jonas Åhlén and A.R.T. Studios.

And Big Balls Productions who endorsed us as well this time:

We can’t thank these guys enough.

And we are rolling!

Now, stuff is happening. Here’s a studio report from Tobben‘s recording sessions for demo number 7 (part 1 of trilogy 3), directly from The Golden One himself:

“Well, I dropped off my drums at Big Balls Productions last Sunday evening and on Monday, me and Mats put up the drum kit and mic’ed everything. But while soundchecking we faced major problems with the tom triggers.

Now, many may ask why the hell I trigger my toms, as I normally hate and despise that – especially toms (well, the snare is even worse)! But since we’ve found or Torture way of working our recordings together with Swanö’s way of working by now, we now know that this is what suits us best, and Swanö makes the drums sound so fucken awesome anyway, so in this case; fuck pride. So after a few hours of experimenting with the triggers and scratching our heads, we got it all to work fine. But at that late hour we called it a day. Tuesday was planned for other commitments so we began recording yesterday, Wednesday, instead.

After a quick soundcheck and importing my back tracks and stuff into the recording software, we began recording straight away. The first song was done in a few takes and a few punch-ins – which was the case with all the other songs too. Except for one song that I nailed on the first take. It’s always so nice to work with Mats at Big Balls. He has a relaxed attitude towards recording while still being very focused on his work. That relaxed atmosphere is always present in the studio when we’re working together and I naturally believe that it affects my performance in a positive way. It sure did on the recording of the new The Project Hate album at least!

If I don’t count in the hours we spent drinking coffee and talking bullshit last night, it took us about three hours to record those five (!) songs. And I’m very happy with my performance this time around. Well, I usually never leave the studio until I am, but this time it all went so smooth and instantly felt so good when I played. Can’t wait to hear your reactions on the new songs. I think these songs are the best we’ve done in quite a while.

Unfortunately I don’t have any video clips from the recording. I honestly forgot to ask Mats to film me while playing. Everything went so fast! But here are some pictures for you to drool over:”

Da kit. Look at those poor humiliated taped up toms! Ouch!

My notes to one of the songs.

Welcome to hell.

Come on kattjävel, det svänger ju!

Sod off, bastard!

Blasting off for Kicksville!

Break.

Thanks K for the Warrior T-shirt. It made the whole recording!

Mats of Big Balls Productions.

The gig at Jörgen‘s native island Gotland is approaching fast, as we sure are ready for it. A few days ago their local news paper decided to give us some attention and ended up interviewing J, which can be seen here in a big feature (only in Swedish though). Apart from that we still got some merch and CD’s for sale, you know. We’d appreciate if you help us to get rid of them so we can get some money for new merch and new demos, as always. Click me for CD’s and click me for t-shirts.
