J about to do vocals!

Yes, we are planning to have Mr Sandström’s vocals ready by next week, then the whole thing is being sent to Mr Swanö for mixing. So, when you least expect it - the third part of trilogy one will hit you in the face like cock on a Saturday night.

Torture Division to release Christmas single!

We have accepted a exclusive offer! A Japanese guy named Gai Er de Man contacted us some time ago and offered to print 4 copies of a Torture Division Christmas 7″ single. Ofcourse we have said yes to this. The band gets one copy each and Gai Er de Man get’s the fourth and final copy. This single will unfortunately not be for sale but we will make it available for download at this site as always.

The only demand this guy had was that the single will be completed before Christmas and that we record a cover of his favourite band, WASP. And since We Are Satan’s People we gladly accepted. So, look forward to a Christmas single in December, people. Maybe you can figure out what WASP tune we have covered?

And hey, don’t forget that the last part of trilogy one is coming up first.

Bass is done!

Yeah, we just went thru it and had no editing to do so the bass is completed for demo 3. Now all we need is J in the studio for some monstrous roars, courtesy of Mr. Sandström. Hopefully that will happen real soon. Stay tuned.

J speaks about the recording process!

“So, today I layed down all the bassguitar. It was the first time I did it on my own at home, so I just have to wait and see if I have done everything correct, hahaha… or at least then I had a nice rehersal, haha..

I think we will be alright…

For the first time that I can remember I layed down the bass without using distortion. I recorded a clean signal so that Dan can put the distortion that he prefers. Last time we recorded the bass with my sound, my distortions etc and a clean signal and of course Dan would only use the clean signal, so this time I didnt fuck around for an hour or two to get the sound I want, when I still dont have it in the end, hahahahahah.. fucking Dan. Although I do like the distortion he used on the last demo alot, my sound will always be a little better, haha.

Ok, I wait now for the Lord to listen to the files and see if he approves on my basslines…”

Torture Division to play at House Of Metal!

We are so damn honored to have been asked to participate in the House Of Metal festival in Umeå, Sweden, February 2009. They just announced the first bands that will play and you can find all the info you need at www.houseofmetal.se. Tobben and K have played this very festival before and had a fantastic time with a very professional organization, so to say that we are happy to come there again with Torture Division is an understatement. We will destroy you crazy fuckers as we get there. Prepare for total war!

Update from Mr. Sandström!

“Here is the status. I have the files but I had to write new lyrics for a song… This is the plan.. This week I will just have to rehearse alot for the Vicious Art gig on Friday since I have not been able to rehearse with the band for a long time now. After Friday comes Saturday and The Lord will be here so he will show me all the riffs that I havent been able to learn myself (one or two) and then I will start recording the stuff asap…

And the guitars are done!

The Lord finished up his work today and will now ship the files to Mr. Sandström so he can further enhance the world’s best death metal. We are not completely sure (aka not sure at fucken all) when he will put down his stuff but are hoping for some time soon. K wants to thank his wonderful Ibanez Xiphos for once again answering to the expectations one can have when it comes to guitars. Yes, that was a shameless plug. While we are at it, thanx to the MT2, the DS1 and the DBX compressor thingie for giving K a killer sound as always too. Oh, and the Korg tuner. Can’t forget that one. Stay tuned for more information on the recording process.

Drums and guitars done!

Yep, only some double checking to do with the guitars to see that everything is fine and there are no drop outs or anything in the sound, after that the 3 songs are off to Mr Sandström för his insane vocals and bass. We are getting closer to completing the first trilogy now…

The process of recording…

Now we are smokin’. Or something to that extent. The drums have been delivered to The Lord and he’s currently busy putting down guitars for this piece of the world’s best death metal. Things are going extremely well and there’s but one more song to nail for this third demo, something that will be done this week as soon as time allows us to. This is shaping up to be a fantastic slab of death metal once again, like you have come to expect from us and all. You will need to keep yer eyes open over at our forums and at this site coz one of this days - BANG! - you might be dead. Or even have the chance of downloading the last chapter in trilogy one, the choice is yours. We don’t even know what that means but it sounds kinda death metal to bring up death and whatnot in a news post.

Stay tuned, fuckers… You don’t even know what’s about to hit you in the fucken face, big time…

The drums have been recorded!

And here are some words from Tobben himself:

“Last Thursday we began the recording of the third demo. Mats of Senseless Recordings and I teamed up at the Vomitory rehearsal place at 5 p.m. Miking my drum kit, soundcheck and coffee took about two hours - then we began recording.

I was so fucken excited to record this third demo. A couple of days earlier I had rehearsed everything and it felt really good! No mistakes or any worries for the new material at all. But once Mats hit the recording button, all hell broke lose in my brain and in my left leg/foot. My idea was to record the new songs to the click tracks that K had prepared for me (his guitar + click track), but since I’m not so used playing to a click track it didn’t really turn out that good that I had imagined it would. Not even remotely close. Not even in the same fucken universe to be more specific! I also have this constant sciatica pain in my left leg since a couple of months back, and it usually gets worse when I’m playing drums. Thursday night was no exception. Then when the pain started to increase and my brain was working too much with the click track, instead of feeling the music, my playing went down to the level of a mongolid amputee. I got really irritated and discouraged, and I know more than well how that too affects my playing. It’s like a downward evil spiral…

After struggling with two songs (and not even finished the second one!) for nearly three hours, I decided to call it quits at 10 p.m. Before I went to bed, I decided to try everything again the next day, without the click track - just like I usually do when recording drums.

Friday was the complete opposite story! After warming up for some minutes, we began recording again at 3 p.m. - without the click track - and after 30 minutes I had nailed all the three demo songs. My playing was soooo much better than the night before, you could not think it was the same drummer if you had heard it! Mats can approve that! I’m really satisfied with how it all turned out. I can now also reveal that I recorded two more songs which will NOT be on the third demo! I had to do a few takes on one of the two, while I nailed the last one on the first take. So after two hours on Friday we were done with five songs and had put down all of Mats’s recording gear. Fuck, that felt nothing but great!

Now we are waiting for Mats to send the drum files to the Lord, which will happen during this weekend, then it’s time for K’s and J’s magic to complete this closing chapter of the first trilogy.”

We are now waiting to get the files so K can start to record his guitars, then everything will be shipped to J for vocals and bass. After that the shit is off to Mr Swanö.
