“Evighetens Dårar” fucken available now!
So yeah – we lied to you. We already recorded the demo at hand and wanted to surprise you bastards. You didn’t see this coming, now did you? You can now officially obey us. Take this info below, send it to magazines and whatnot. Spread the word. “Evighetens Dårar” is available @ Unisound.se. Congratulations, you just got another piece of the world’s best death metal. For free. We can’t thank Dan Swanö enough for the incredible work he’s done for us again, not to mention the fantastic material we’ve composed all by ourselves. Dan has once again turned our shitty files into something extremely massive and if we could (being heterosexuals is a problem) we’d marry the fucken guy. Thank you, Dan, thank you so fucken much. Now on to the rest, bitches:
Torture Division – Press release, August 2009:
The rise of torture:
The band was formed in Sweden, 2007 by Lord K Philipson (The Project Hate MCMXCIX) and Tobben Gustafsson (Vomitory) after they terminated their former band God Among Insects. To complete the line up they asked Jörgen Sandström (ex-Grave vocalist/bassist) to join the band. Immediately Torture Division started to write songs, fired up a website and did what they could to make their cause known.
A few rules were set up from the start:
1. The band was to be a three piece. An army of three.
2. At least 3 demos should be released before they even considered a record deal. The reason for that is that they wanted some time for the band to develop instead of writing a half-assed album. To this day, numerous record deals have been turned down in favour of recording demos and give away the music for free. To actually give away the music is one of the strongest agendas of Torture Division.
3. There is no riff good enough to not contain a blastbeat.
The recordings:
With those rules put in effect the band recorded their 1st demo “With endless wrath” (24.361 downloads to this date) from December 2007 to January 2008 over a few days. The 2nd demo “We bring upon thee” (26.793 downloads to this date) made it into 1’s and 0’s in April/May 2008 and the 3rd demo “Our infernal torture” (28.735 downloads to this date) was put down in November/December, 2008. They also recorded a 7” Christmas single called “Suffer the shitmass” (33.298 downloads to this date), released in 4 copies only by a Japanese super fan! That’s a total of over 113.000 downloads from the official Torture Division site, not counting all the other sites the demos are available at that Torture Division have no statistics for. Not half-assed for a band who says no to record deals and only release demos. Since recording number 2 and forward Torture Division’s been working together with metal god Dan Swanö to make sure their music comes out with the best productions possible.
The agenda:
The band decided not to charge fans any money for the songs, all recordings have been put up for free download on www.torturedivision.net. And as the band didn’t wanna sign a record deal they urged their fans to print their own copies to sell at concerts etc and make themselves some cash to buy a beer or 2 for. Their supporters did an amazing job to spread the name and the band rapidly got more and more downloads from their site. The most loyal fans supported the band by buying their t-shirts so the band could continue releasing their high quality death metal for free. The first demo trilogy together with the 7” also got printed in 1000 copies by American underground label Abyss Records and is entitled “With endless wrath we bring upon thee our infernal torture”, naturally. The band made it clear to the label that they have no rights to the songs and or/if someone else wanna print the same thing they are more than welcome to do so. Torture Division are the only ones with rights to their music.
The live carnage:
The band also landed a few good festival gigs in Sweden after the first couple of demos; Metaltown in Gothenburg, The Close Up Boat between Stockholm-Helsinki, House of Metal in Umeå, etc… And the response was awesome, giving the band a reputation of being a completely killing unit on stage. TD is always ready to enter the stage anywhere under the right circumstances and all questions about this should be made to the e-mail address below.
The future:
Torture Division have now started to record their second trilogy of demos. Shirts and hoodies are on their way to be printed to help finance the recordings so the main focus of the band – to release every bit of music for free – can be maintained. The 2nd trilogy of demos will be entitled “Evighetens Dårar”. For one of the songs on the first demo of this second trilogy (do you follow?) Torture Division invited their fans to be a part of history. The band urged their fans to send in a recording of them screaming the word ”HAIL!”, ending up with a few hundred contributions, each and every one of them making it into the song. That’s Torture Division’s way of saying “thank you” to the fans supporting what they do, which is being the world’s best death metal band. All of Torture Division’s music is available for free, and will always be that, at www.torturedivision.net, complete with covers and lyrics. The brand new demo is just uploaded so go there and experience the latest offering.

Trilogy 1 to be released on a CD!
“With endless wrath we bring upon thee our infernal torture” will now get an official release thru Abyss Records, located in the US. Why have we accepted this? It’s easy, if they can sell some albums consisting of our three demos (and our x-mas single), good for us and good for them. Good for them coz they will probably make some money off of us. Good for us coz we will get some more attention. Do we make money on this? Not a fucken chance. We haven’t even written a contract for this release. And not only that, Abyss Records own no rights whatsoever to our material or to the actual cd that they will print, and all of this is stated in the booklet (if you can even call it a “booklet”). If you run a label and wants to release this compilation of demos – feel free to do so, just contact us first so we at least know about it.
Yes, this thing will have a brand new cover (kind of) and it’s all been remastered by Dan Swanö, so there’s a small change to the original recordings anyways. If you feel like buying the disc for that reason – go ahead. Ofcourse you can just download the shit from this website when we have put everything up, as always. That’s what we do – we give you the world’s best death metal – free of fucken charge. No matter if a label asks kindly to release what we do “officially”, we will always hand everything out for you for free, just as we planned it from the beginning.
Wait for more information about this release as we go along.

X-mas single out now!

We told you there would be a Christmas 7 inch available for you guys from your fave band, remember? Here it is. Another present for you after handing out the fantastic display of the world’s best death metal that was “Our infernal torture”, here comes “Suffer the shitmass”. We talked about this single over at our forums, but let’s remind you lot:
“A Japanese guy named Gai Er de Man contacted us some time ago and offered to print 4 copies of a Torture Division Christmas 7″ single. Ofcourse we have said yes to this. The band gets one copy each and Gai Er de Man get’s the fourth and final copy. This single will unfortunately not be for sale but we will make it available for download at www.torturedivision.net as always.”
So, here it is – spread it like cancer at every torrent site you see fit. We’ll have everything arranged at the Downloadgraphy page after the holidays are over (or sooner, who knows) but for now you need to take it all from these links:
A-side: The torture never stops
B-side: The Purifier
Cover artwork is found here.
And if you wanna read the lyrics to “The Purifier”, use this link.
Have a painful Christmas full of torture and death.

With endless wrath we bring upon thee… OUR INFERNAL TORTURE!
There you go, the last part of trilogy one is now available, neatly entitled “Our infernal torture“. You will find it in the “Downloadgraphy” section of this site. 3 tracks of the world’s best death metal – all recorded for the purpose of us loving our death metal and handing it out to you for free. We know, we are the best – thank you. Once again we wanna thank Dan Swanö, the official Torture Division mixing sponsor, for giving us an incredibly heavy sound. Dan really is the fucken man. Just listen to what we have cooked up and try keeping your speakers from blowing up. It’s THAT fucken heavy.
Before we continue, let us state one thing: We believe we just accomplished some kind of a world record, prolly qualifying us for the Guinness Book Of Fuckitall. Some 3 hours ago we completed the mixing and mastering of this demo and you guys have it NOW. 3 fucken hours ago, people. Applaud us, dammit! We actually planned to give you guys this fantastic piece of death metal art earlier this week but since we discovered some digital errors we had to wait for Dan to have the time to fix those. And Dan is one busy fucken hero, that’s for sure. But now you have it.
Onwards…
We started this band with the intention of handing everything out for free and we’ll continue to do just that. We’ll now let you in on a secret… We had some money from the last print of t-shirts left so we decided to give the guys who helped us record this demo what was left cash-wise. How fucken noble is that? They always helped us out for free and now we could give back huge chunks of money to them (if you believe that “huge chunks” thing you are retarded). So thanx for buying our merch and helping us financing this recording.
Enough bullshit now.
Download the demo (no, we don’t sell any physical copies – you have the goddamn covers and everything available for download, print the fucken demo(s) yourself) and spread it on torrent sites, Rapidshare or whatever (read what’s written at the bottom of this page). Just get the fucken thing out there. Have people discover the world’s best fucken death metal. Do the same with our 2 previous demos, thank you. After that – support us by buying our coming merchandise. All the money we get from that go straight into the recording of the first part of the next trilogy and future shirts. Just as we have done all along. No need to change a winning concept, right?
We also have a few gigs coming up. First of we will destroy the Close Up Boat (info at www.closeupmagazine.net) just to quickly take our private jet after that, to Umeå and the House Of Metal festival (www.houseofmetal.se). We look forward to both these gigs so much it’s not even sane. We haven’t played live since the successful MetalTown gig earlier this year and really can’t wait to bring our death metal to the audiences again. Be fucken ready coz we will crush.
Oh, and you can also listen to the music we offer at Ubetoo. If you listen to us thru that site we might eventually get a dollar or two and it will cost you absolutely nothing.
Now we have given you a full album. 9 songs. Put them in any order you want and blast thru 9 tunes of the world’s best death metal. You can even put the 3 demo covers next to each other and you’ll see some magic. 2008 is completed, now we move into 2009 and the next trilogy.
But for now, enjoy the new fantastic demo and make sure to look at this site around x-mas, coz you haven’t forgotten that we have a 7 inch coming out then, huh? One cover (a WASP tune actually) and a brand new song coming up as if this demo wasn’t enough. Just keep yer eyes on this site and at our forums and make sure to make your voice heard about this new demo. And the 7 inch when it’s released, ofcourse.
We bring upon thee an army of three…
/ Torture Division, December 2009.
